7 Kitchen Herbs that could Treat Cancer

Everyone wants to know the secret to preventing cancer or fighting it, but did you know about these seven kitchen herbs that could treat cancer?
The following herbs can be found in many kitchens the world over, yet they have additional properties that make them great for treating or preventing cancer. This is exciting when you consider you use these in a lot of recipes and you could be helping yourself fight cancer before it can begin in your body.

Ginger
Ginger contains antioxidants and also has anti-inflammatory properties, which both contribute to the prevention of cancer or the fight against it. Using fresh ginger means you get gingerol. However, even dried ginger has benefits in the form of zingerone.
Garlic
Not only can garlic kill cancer cells, but it also boosts metabolism and helps with high cholesterol. It also has the added benefit of adding flavor to the dishes you use it in.

Cayenne Pepper
Capsaicin is in Cayenne Pepper, and it has been proven to help fight cancer cells. It also prevents the growth of current cells, particularly in the case of prostate cancer.
Turmeric
Typically found in an Indian kitchen rather than one in North America, this spice contains curcumin, which fights all types of cancer. It also targets the cancer cells specifically and leaves normal cells to function as they are. Interestingly, turmeric also causes the yellow color in curry.
Saffron
This contains more than 150 compounds that give off odors. There are numerous beneficial compounds within the spice as well, like lycopene, carotenes and even zeaxanthin. These properties help the spice fight cancer and prevent tumors, both the benign and cancerous varieties.
Oregano
Oregano fights prostate cancer by restricting the growth of those malignant cells, thanks to a chemical called Quercetin. This is in addition to being home to many anti-microbial substances.
Cinnamon
Cinnamon reduces the risk of cancer because it has high levels both of calcium and iron. In order to benefit, it is as simple as taking ½ a teaspoon of cinnamon daily.
These herbs can go a long way toward fighting cancer that is established in your system. Even for those who do not have a cancer diagnosis, it may prove proactive to add these spices to your diet with all the carcinogens present in today’s foods and environment.
People in India have long known about the benefits of using turmeric, and people in the US are starting to realize the importance of spices beyond simply making a dish taste better. The hidden benefits of so many spices can not be ignored since they can go a long way toward fighting diseases that can hit anyone of any age or gender.
