Sore throats could be caused by several different things: temperature changes, allergies, viruses, bacteria… Having a sore throat can be painful and uncomfortable, and it is also a health risk if it develops into an infection or tonsillitis.  Here are some simple juices and infusions that can provide you with relief.
Some people are more sensitive than others.  Air conditioning, for example, is one of those things that often times causes a sore throat, along with seasonal temperature changes which is always preceded by itchiness  and almost always ends up as that annoying burning that usually gets more intense when swallowing.  That’s why we want to give you some of the best known remedies: juices and infusions that will slowly heal your throat.

Healing juices and infusions

Lemon and apple cider vinegar infusion

Ingredients

  • One tsp. apple cider vinegar
  • Juice from half of one lemon
  • One tsp. honey
  • A small pinch of cayenne pepper
This is an ancient and effective remedy.  Because of the properties that the honey, apple cider vinegar, and the lemon provide, this will not only reduce inflammation but it will also cleanse the throat walls of any viruses and bacteria.  This will also stimulate the immune system.  To use this infusion, all you have to do is heat a glass of water.  Once boiling, add the juice from half of one lemon and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.  Once you have poured it into your cup, add a bit of honey to the mixture along with the touch of cayenne.  It tastes a bit strong, so we recommend drinking is slowly so that the infusion will take effect on the throat.  Drink it at least twice a day for three continuous days.

Ginger, cinnamon and lemon infusion

Ginger tea

Ingredients

  • One tsp. grated ginger
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • zest from 2 lemons
  • 1/2 c. water
Ginger has excellent analgesic properties that are capable of alleviating throat pain.  Combined with the lemon juice, it will reduce inflammation and will act as an amazing antiseptic.  In order to prepare this infusion, boil one glass of water along with all the ingredients for 15 minutes.  This will allow the ginger to release its medicinal properties.  Drink this one slowly as well, twice a day.

Carrot and mint juice

Carrot juice

The vitamin C in the carrots is great for curing a lot of infections and for reactivating the immune system.  Combined with the mint, it will reactivate the respiratory tract and will provide protection against bacteria.  This juice is just as nutritive as it is medicinal; you’ll see great results with it.  Drink it in the mornings.  To prepare it, all you need is one clean carrot, four mint leaves, juice from half a lemon, and half a glass of water.  Blend all ingredients into a well-blended juice.  Never drink this juice cold, it’s best to warm it up a bit until it is luke warm.

Pineapple, apple and garlic juice

Pineapple enzymes

Ingredients

  • Two slices of pineapple
  • Half an apple
  • One raw clove of garlic
  • Half a glass of water
Both the apple and pineapple are two medicinal fruits.  They have the ability to disinfect the body and strengthen the immune system.  Likewise, the garlic is an excellent natural antibiotic that helps a lot if you are suffering from a sore throat.  It is one of the most effective remedies.  It might taste a bit strange to you with the garlic included, but I assure you, it is worth it.
To make this juice you will need two slices of peeled pineapple.  Peel and cut them in half and blend them.  Add half a glass of water and one raw garlic clove, cut in half.  Blend all the ingredients well into a well-blended juice.  Drink freshly made in the morning.  I’m sure you will feel better.
Chose whichever of these juices and infusions that you like best.  It is important that whenever you’re suffering from a sore throat that you stay hydrated at all times.  Be consistent for at least three or four days, and drink these juices or infusions two or three times a day.  They are natural antiseptics that will greatly help you
