Dan J. Siegel, a clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, explained what your mobile does to your brain and body every time you check it before going to bed.
You expose your eyes to photons. “Stay awake, do not sleep!” Yes, that is what these say to your brain and body, according to Dr. Siegel.
Because of this, you go to bed lat at night. If you do not sleep for 7-9 hours every night, your body cannot function properly, toxins will keep building up and your neurons will not get enough rest.
This does not apply to all people in the world, as we all have different genetics, but about 95% still need to get enough sleep.
Insufficient sleep causes memory problems, stress, affects the ability of making decisions, and it can also affect the production of insulin, a hormone that is essential for proper metabolism. As you already know, if your metabolism does not work perfectly, you may be dealing with obesity.
Dr. Siegel recommends that you turn off or at least stay away from all the screens in your house at least an hour before you go to bed, to prevent any negative effect on your brain.
